I had some problem compiling the source code with the xjavadoc jar found in the source tree(xdoclet-1.2.beta1) cvs repository and nightly build fetched October 7 th 2002. Updated jar to the latest and everything worked great. Perhaps someone else has experienced the same problem? The jar found in the source repository didn’t generate tags for a specific subclass for me. Resulting in the following error.
BUILD FAILED file:/export/home/andreas/xdoc/modules/modules-common.ent:166: Can't create a externalizer element under externalizerdoclet. Make sure the jar file containing the corresponding subtask class is on the classpath specified in the <taskdef> that defined externalizerdoclet.
The build script seems to run some kind of up-to-date check on the xjavadoc repository that per default should exist in parallel to the xdoclet hierarchy. If the up to date check fails if seemed to compile a new jar and copy I to the “dist.lib”. If the repository is up-to-date then the jar found in the lib directory is used. Don’t know how this should be handled, but it seems to me that there is something not right here. This only works the first time we compile or??? It sure made me confused…
