Well, as you may have noticed there is sobig.f, and a lot of lame user around who did not installed respective patches to their windblows boxes. This leads to 80% of all traffic ( maybe more ) being virii. Since they harvest emails from whatever source they can find, list addresses would be also spammed. Sometimes there are replays from some not-so-smart virri blocking gateways, which reply to faked sender ( mailing list ) to comply about virus sent...
