In case anyone's interested...

Good news! Bug 4893804 in Sun's bug parade ("REGRESSION: New -tag
option behavior breaks XDoclet tag support"), which was narrowly missing
out on appearing in the top 25 bugs (49 votes, no. 25 has 57) has now
been closed.

Bad news! They've flagged it as a duplicate of #4920381 ("REGRESSION:
Tag name containing dash not allowed"), which only has 2 votes :-(
http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4920381.html
So if you voted for it before (or even if you didn't), you might like to
go vote for the open one instead...

"there is a major change
in the behaviour of the -tag option between 1.4.1 and 1.4.2:

New feature: The -tag option now allows dash (-) separator for xdoclet
              tags like @ejb:bean
...
The doclet assumes that the seperator is "-" instead of ":".
This code was added in 1.4.2 t support tags like @my:tag.
I don't think anyone knew that people used tags like @my-tag.
This will have to be fixed in 1.5."

Of course, we'd already switched to @my.tag as the preferred form to
work around the very problem they tried to fix, so they needn't have
bothered ;-)

Andrew.
