Can anyone please give me feedback whether this is a known issue and whether it is harmful in any way.

From digging around in the trace and the xdoclet sources, I concluded that the subtask is not initialized at the time the exception occurs, which means that the engine has not been set.

Going back into the trace I found the following section later in the file:
