Checking out xdoclet-plugins works but doesnt compile :-/
So is there anywhere to get prebuilt packages for the plugins to test xdoclet 2 with??

not really. but some modules are in already usable
state
( externalizer, webwork, and hibernate - though
hibernate has small problem with xml generation )
Core is OK, you will get meaningfull error messages (
together with location of offending tags )
And it is definitely faster.
