FYI.... XDoclet 1.2 does support Velocity and BSF within a template 
tag.  I have some examples that I can post later, but don't have them 
handy right this second.

supports velocity & jelly as templates. You can
easily
add bsf supoprt to generama.
I don't know jelly velocity.. (and what is a
generama ?)
I just want to create a custom template which needs
some
embedded scripts. Do I have to use another
template-engine like
velocity to achieve this ?
jelly & velocity are templating languages ( both on
jakarta.apache.org ) - velocity is preferred for
generating
xml.
Generama is generic templating engine used by xdoclet
2,
and adding bsf support to it is realyy easy ( much
easier that xdocelt 1.2 )
