Well, 1.1.2 is a really way back... There shall be no
big bugs, but it's old and well forgotten :) 

I think xdoclet-2 plugin would be way esier to develop
because you have option to use jelly templating - 
bette than .xdt for xml generation.

And you will get nice features like automatic tag
checking & line accurate error reporting...

I'm already using xdoclet-2 in production, clowly
phasing out 1.2 in different subprojects.
