Thanks for your help Michael.
This might be a solution to my problem in short term.

However, I don't really like the idea of changing the Xdoclet template
because if
I upgrade to a newer version of xdoclet in the future I would loose the
change.

maybe you can try to change the xdoclet template.

The original entry is :

<XDtMethod:ifHasMethodTag
tagName="weblogic:dbms-column-type">
         <dbms-column-type><XDtMethod:methodTagValue
tagName="weblogic:dbms-column-type"
values="OracleBlob,OracleClob"/></dbms-column-type>
        </XDtMethod:ifHasMethodTag>

Maybe you just have to append the values for your
Sybase Database.
