This is OT, but just to serve the next search on this: i found out that
my EJB interfaces where on both the WAR and EJB.jar. Once removed from
the WAR everything worked fine. I just hadn't noticed cause previous
versions of JBoss did not complain. The error had nothing to do with the
generated util objects.
