I am a relative newbie to XDoclet, although I've used it before in
JBoss, where it worked quite well for the little we did with it.
Now I have to use IBM RAD 6.0 which has support for "annotations" which
I believe are either XDoclet or derived from XDoclet. One of their
documents mentions XDoclet as the source. However I find IBM's
implementation very annoying. I realize I should be asking this of IBM,
but I figure I have better chance of getting an answer here.
Does anyone know
1) WHY IBM will not let you edit their deployment descriptors in the GUI
without making you disable Annotations? Do they have problems keeping
them in synch?
2) If you HAVE turned off Annotations in an IBM/RAD project, how do you
turn them back on? I have looked at every frigging file that was
readable in one of their workspaces and cannot figure out how they are
doing this. Even when annotations are turned off their project
properties still tell you that the annotation builder is on.
Thanks to anyone who can shed light on this, and please accept my
apologies for posting this here.
