I don't know or much care about xdoclet 2.  The developers seem to have
made all sorts of changes for no particularly good reason, whilst all
the while failing to realize that people don't use xdoclet because of
its underlying architecture.  They use it because of its plugins.
Xdoclet 1 has plugins I want.  Xdoclet 2 does not.  I don't care how
much more wonderful writing plugins is thanks to Generama (whatever the
hell that is).  The plugins people want already exist for xdoclet 1, so
why would anyone migrate?

My understanding of the situation is that users can use both, depending on what plugin (and plugin quality) they are after. Developers on the other hand, have made it easier to add plugins (and plugin developers) in the future with X2.
