Hi All,

I just recently started playing with Xen(XCP), so I apologize in advance if
this comes off as a silly question.

I understand that there are two networking modes, 'linux bridge' and
'openvswitch'. I also see that there is a script called 'vif' that
configures the appropriate interfaces on the host. My question is, is it
anyway possible to add a custom mode that enables vendor specific
configurations to take place? The reason why I ask is that there may be
cases in which either we don't want to use linux bridge or OVS, or maybe we
want to use them but configure their resources differently. From my
limited knowledge, to accomplish this, we either need to be able to replace
'vif' script, or modify 'vif' script to handle custom network mode and
execute its corresponding vif configuration script. Again, I apologize if
this sounds off-base as I have only recently started looking into Xen, but
I just wanted to throw this idea out there to see what everyone thinks.

Cheers,
Ryu
