Can you be a little more specific on the configuration and the failure? e.g. 
were you installing the xvp RPMs into a manually installed Linux VM or were you 
using the pre-packaged appliance?

I'm sure you are aware that XVP is intended to be run in a separate Linux 
environment (e.g. a VM), not the XCP dom0.
