Hello,

I think the problem I encountered is quite common to a lot of people.

These days I am trying to compile a XenLinux kernel from source. Everything
works fine except the NIC card.
I have searched a lot and tried a lot before I send out this email for help:
(1) I have enabled BNX2 option when I compile the kernel.
(2) I have downloaded bnx2 dirver source code from Broadcom to compile, but
failed.
(3) Some people say that it is caused by the Dell firmware. Any expert to
confirm this??
(4) I noticed that many people encountered the same problem, but the
solution they provided also does not work in my machine.

Here is the details of my server:
-------------------------------------------------------
Linux-2.6.18.8, xen-3.4.2: http://www.xen.org/download/index_3.4.2.html

CPU: Intel Xeon E5540
Memory: 16GB
NIC: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM 5709S

Host OS: CentOS-5.4-x86_64

Any attention or comment to my question is highly appreciated. Thank you
very much!

Regards,
Luwei
