what compiler are you using? makeC++SharedLib_r is a command that ships
with the AIX command line compilers from IBM prior to Visual Age C++ 5.0
Pro. if you are running Visual Age C++ 5.0 Pro, you need a later version of
the source code than is posted for the standard 1.4 distribution.
