Geez, I'm confused. It works fine for me. In fact I just tried it again.
Can you give me any more information about what you're doing and how it
fails? Which environment you're running the perl script from?
The script correctly shortens the file
ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException.hpp
--> ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsExcept.hpp
for me.
