Yes, but I think that the change will be minor. They already need to
modify their projects for each release because each library has a
different name. And there does not seem to be much attempt at source or
binary compatibility between releases either.
Anybody who is uses the current 'make install' at the moment is probably
more than ready to accomodate the small changes necessary for this.
