I do not think there is a port to FreeBSD (at least, not an official one).
However, there is a patch to xerces 1.3.0 (made or updated by -I'm not clear
which- Dave Viner).

I still have got a copy of the patch file if you are interested. It compiles
well on FreeBSD 4.2 (did not try on FreeBSD 4.3 though).
