ICU 1.7 and 1.8 changed its naming conventions. you need Xerces 1.5 to work
with the newer ICU versions.

Hi,

I am using Xalan 1.1(Xerces 1.4.0) with ICU. Is ICU 1.8.1 compatible
with this version of Xalan /Xerces.
If  it is not compatible then what are the technical incompatibilties
that I should expect.

Any reply is welcome.
