Hi I am graduate student in Carnegie Mellon University. I was doing a comparative study of MSXML2 sax parser and Xerces-c sax parser (Just SAX not DOM). I figured out that MSXML2 sax parser is about 4 times faster than the xerces parser. For ex, when I parsed a 36 MB file, MSXML2 parser took 8 seconds where as xerces parser took 33 seconds.This behavior is consistent. Can you please give me some insight about how we can improve the performance?
Also, I looked at the ActiveXML COM wrapper provided by you. It has xerces-c_1_1.dll with size 488 KB. If I build the xerces-c source code in release mode, it generates a xerces-c_1_5_2.dll with size 1,408 KB. I does not even allow me to build the project in debug mode (gives some linking errors). Can you please let me know which dll is right? I appreciate your answers for all these questions.
