full paths don't work for -c, -x in runConfigure

The -c and -x flags are used to indicate which compiler you are using, not the
absolute paths to to those compilers. They trigger differential compilation
flags within the makefiles, so if you supply a compiler that isn't listed among
the known compilers, you will have trouble.

To explicitly use a given compiler setting your PATH is the best way.
