We don't have such information in place right now.  BUT as discussed in another thread few weeks earlier, we ARE working on that.   We plan to create a file called 'RELEASE-PLAN' in CVS.   (I didn't forget about that :->)

This should happen soon.  Stay tuned.

Subject: Where to look for future release plans and details?

Please, where can I find information about plans for future releases of Xerces-C? I'm interested in information such as when such a release might happen, and what fixes / features will the new version contain?

I'm about to embark on the effort to build Xerces under CygWin, and after reading the archives, it appears there has not been a lot of activity on that front. Further, the person who has had what appears to be the greatest amount of success (I've been in contact with Nacho), used version 1.5 as a base from which to begin patching. I've been doing all my development work to date on Solaris, using Xerces-C 1.6.0, and g++ 1.95, and would like to continue using the most current stable version of Xerces.

If a newer release is planned for the very near future, I might prefer to wait for that version to emerge, rather than going through the effort of patching 1.6 for CygWin, and shortly thereafter having to repeat some of the effort on the newer version.

Thank you for any assistance,
Bruce Reid
