The project uses msvcrt.dll for the release configuration and msvcrtd.dll
for the debug configuration. If you insert this project into some of your
other workspaces (with projects that use the Multi-threaded DLL version of
the C run time library), MSVC will auto-magically use the release version
for the Win32-Release configuration and the debug for the Win32-Debug
configuration.
If you would like to build a static library, read the last 3 days of
posts... I was just asking this question myself and recieved lots of good
feedback. If it still does not make sense, let me know I will post a
"consolidated" set of steps to build your very own static Xerces library.
Note: if you want to build a static lib, but your target app uses the
Multi-threaded DLL flavor of the C run time, you will want to build the
static lib with the Multi-threaded DLL run time also.
Thank-you,

Please respond to
xerces-c-dev
I am using release version of the project in MSDEV.
Can I replace msvcrd.dll by msvcrt.dll?
How can I use it statically?
Please provide details, as I am new to it.
Thanks

Yes, I think it does. If this is a problem, which it was for us, you
can edit the project to use static libraries and rebuild.

Does xercesc depend on msvcrtd.dll by any chance?
