http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=13236 misc installation documentation nits Summary: misc installation documentation nits Product: Xerces-C++ Version: 2.1.0 Platform: PC URL: http://xml.apache.org/xerces-c/build-winunix.html#UNIX OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: Other Component: Documentation AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >From build directions document listed in the URL: "Is that it? Yes, that's all you need to build Xerces-C++." Not quite! You still need to type: "make install" to install the library into your systems lib dir. Do you need to fiddle with your libary path? What file do you edit (and to contain what exactly?) to do that? Do you need to fiddle with ldconfig to have things picked up right away, or do you need to reboot? Does the XERCESCROOT variable always have to be set inorder to /use/ the library? Can I delete the distribution dir after I have installed? [This bug brought to you by the "help make Apache, Linux, and Free Software a viable (read easy) alternative for the non-technical user" aka "you don't need to think for yourself you RTFMing instruction following automaton" aka "duh!" aka "quit bothering me you whiny nitpicker" department :-] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
