Hi Scot On a project I was on last year we used Xerces 1.5 for schema validation on OS/390 "Classic".
We succeded in compiling Xerces 1.5 using the following recipe: 1: give all files a unique 8.3 filename 2: fix include directives to use 8.3 3: compile all relevant .cpp files (needed som tweaking, but nothing serious as far as I remember - depends on you having a resent C++ compiler. We used a IBM compiler - do not remeber the version.) We modified the perl script ShortenFiles.pl from the Xerces dist to perform item 1 and 2. If you whish I will send you our modified version of ShortenFiles.pl.
