No it is not planned, we will continue to pass around these very light weight "strings". If you want to write a wrapper class and you think it is useful then the list can have a discussion about whether it should be included in the distribution. I have never written a wrapper class. However, I think that may be because I am just very used to using them and there is no choice in the internals. I do seem to recall moaning when the change first happened. I also recall other people voicing their frustration, but I don't recall anyone actually coming forward with an implementation.
