I agree. So let's build our feature list, and see who'll sign up for what. No sign-up, no feature. Note that I've taken a first step by trying to decouple the move to subversion from discussion of what should be in 3.0, and whether 3.0 should be.
Here's a list of potential tasks. Not all of them have to happen, and they certainly won't happen if we nobody will sign-up for the tasks:
