Jeffrey,
Regarding your querries :
1. Install the latest version xerces 3.0.1suncc.tar.gz from
alphaworks.ibm.com or
xerces_c release version 1.0.1 from xml.apache.org
2.We always create the dynamic libraries (.so). What .a libraries are you
looking for?
3. The binary drop should serve you if you just want to plugin the parser
in your application.
There are documentation that guide you how to compile the source drop (in
case you choose to use source) with appropriate environment settings and
executables.

Subject: Compile and install XML on Solaris 2.5.1 with SparcWork 4.2 Compi
      ler.

Dean,

Greeting!

We tried to install IBM's XML parser library on our system and we need your
help. Our plateforms are Sun Solaris 2.5.1 and we use SparcWork 4.2 C++
compiler.
1) Which version should we install for these plateforms?
2) We first tried to download and install the binary version of 3.0.1
(xml4c3_0_1-suncc.tar), but found out it doesn't have necessary .a library
files, only two dynamic link library (.so) are available in the lib
directory.
3) We then downloaded Version 2.3.1 tar file (xml4csrc2_3_1_tar.tar.Z), and
tried compiling by running MakeRelease.pl. But the installation was
partially failed. Could you please tell us what processure we should follow
to get it installed correctly?

We are planning to use XML as the communication protocol between our
trading
applications. We checked the discussion panel, but didn't find answers.

Your help will be great appreciated.

Best regards,

Jeffrey J. Zhou
