The IBM alphaWorks XML4J parser used to include an XJParse class that provided a simple command line interface for validating, checking well-formedness, etc. Nothing like that seems to be present in Xerces-J. Is this accurate or am I missing it hiding somewhere? If it's accurate, is there any particular reason this is so? Would there be interest in adding such a program to the Xerces distribution?
