schema parsing bug?

I have attached small xml and schema files which I believe show an
error in XML4J 3.0.0 EA3. However, I'm pretty new at schemas so it
certainly could be my mistake.
 
The error I get is:
 
No validator for datatype Other
Could someone please take a quick look at the attached files and see
if I've done something wrong or if its a bug in xerces? Thanks much.
