This has not yet been included in the implementation of Xerces C, but I did
send soem patches a few days ago that will implement this.

After this release gets out, they said that they would look at my patches to
see if they are usable, but until then, if you really need that function,
just add my patches to the source and rebuild...

I've been using it for about two weeks with no problems...

Subject: DOM level 2 - getElementById ?

Hello at Apache.org!

I have got a question.

Where is DOM Level 2 method :

(Introduced in DOM Level 2)
Element  getElementById(in DOMString elementId);

...in your DOM implementaltion???

I quoted from your descriptions...

Xerces-C++ Version 1.1.0
                 ... It also provides early implementations of DOM Level
2 version 1.0
                 and soon it will support XMLSchema, ...

Xerces-J 1.0.0 Release
                 The Xerces-J 1.0.0 release contains advanced parser
functionality,
                 such as XML Schema, DOM Level 2, and SAX version 2, in
addition
                 to supporting the industry-standard DOM Level 1 and SAX
version 1
                 APIs.

... that the whole 5 new methods of the DOM Core API were already
covered in the newest
Xerces releases.

Did I miss something and just did not read the right sections or are the
methods still to be included - when?

Regards, Thomas Conradi
