I had the same problem. I solved it using the following compile *and* link
option for my app :
-mt

I am trying to include the lib libxerces-c1_1.so
It is giving me the following error during runtime:
"libc internal error: _rmutex_unlock: rmutex not held."
I am running on Sun Solaris: with Sun CC compiler v 4.2
Any suggestions,
