This is a known short-coming of Xerces-C. We are looking for volunteers who have the expertise in setting up 'autoconf' and 'configure' scripts to redo the makefiles and submit it back to us. Would you be willing to do rewrite the existing makefiles towards the goals that you mentioned? rahul
