I did port previous versions for IRIX 6.5.5 using SGImipspro C++ 7.3.x. (32
bit)
However, so far I did not attempt the latest version and as you noted, there
are kinks to be worked out. In particular, the SGI template instantiation
makes things difficult when it comes to linking (to be more precise, things
are a bit messy as Xerces uses the common /obj directory). Porting is very
easy on the C++ side, it's the Makefiles that make trouble ;-).
I wrote up a detailed report which I could send you later on today.
