The answer is no, there is no realistic mechanism for doing this at this
time. Perhaps there might never be, given the complexities that will come
along with Schema. And, there are other issues such as normalizing values
added programmatically to the tree, and maintaining prefix and URL
namespace coherency, etc... There are a lot of issues involved once you
start allowing programmatic building of DOM trees.
