Hi Allison,
A few versions ago we adopted a URI class that has a more strict
filename definition, from the FAQ:
"
I used to be able to use DOS filenames with the parser and now they don't work. Why not?
DOS filenames are not legal URIs as required by the XML 1.0 specification. Therefore, it was an error for the parser to accept DOS filenames. This bug is now fixed.
DOS filenames can be converted to legal URIs, however. For example, the DOS filename "c:\xerces\data\personal.xml" would become "file:///c:/xerces/data/personal.xml", which is a legal URI."
Hope this helps,
Jeffrey Rodriguez

Hi there,
I'm in the process of trying to convert a programme from using many different parsers, to just using the Xerces one... and I encountered the same problem. I'm sure my project is in the classpath (which is set thru a batch file) but when I run I get : File: C:\apps\jas\etc\ds.xml not found.
Any other ideas why it might not be working? (I converted a NonValidatingDomParser from ibm to a DOMParser)
Thanks in advance,
Allison
