you are absolutely right that there are some problems with SAX but it is
now a defacto industry standard.
So in my opinion SAX should be supported.
I do not know Mr. Megginson. But may be there is a way to create something
like SAX3 to produce widely
accepted interfaces with more functionality.
On the other hand there should be than a new version of JAXP.
Because of XML Schema and following recommendations there are new
requirements. But in my opinion
they should be provided by standardized interfaces.
