SAX2 package badly out of date.

           Summary: SAX2 package badly out of date.
           Product: Xerces2-J
           Version: 2.0.1
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Major
          Priority: Other
         Component: SAX
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi,

The SAX2 release ncluded in Xerces-2 is badly out-of-date.

I came across an infinite loop bug in the version of
org.xml.sax.helpers.AttributesImpl.java that is included Xerces 2.0.1. I
thought it was a bug in the aforementioned file, but when I reported it to
saxproject.org, it turned out to have been fixed months ago.

You can read my bug report at

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?
func=detail&aid=530558&group_id=29449&atid=396219

and the original bug report (i.e. the one that was fixed) at

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?
func=detail&aid=441063&group_id=29449&atid=396219

In my bug report to saxproject.org, I gave a code snippet that recreates the
bug. When I tested that code against the latest SAX 2.0.1 release from the
saxproject.org website, I could not recreate the bug.

If the SAX2 included in Xerces-2 isn't updated, you may find yourselves getting
a lot of false bug reports.

Regards,

Alan Kennedy.
