Just to toss in my two cents, I find the whole idea of default attributes reappearing by magic to be deeply surprising, though I suppose this is a symptom of XML's mixing of validation and instance data, and also a symptom of the complete lack of a decent model for schemas in the DOM.
I would be very happy to see the default attributes not get automagically reapplied following a deletion of the attribute. If I want to delete an attribute, I expect it stay deleted, damn it! -- +-----------------------+------------------------+-------------------+ | Elliotte Rusty Harold | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Writer/Programmer | +-----------------------+------------------------+-------------------+ | The XML Bible, 2nd Edition (Hungry Minds, 2001) | | http://www.cafeconleche.org/books/bible2/ | | http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN=0764547607/cafeaulaitA/ | +----------------------------------+---------------------------------+ | Read Cafe au Lait for Java News: http://www.cafeaulait.org/ | | Read Cafe con Leche for XML News: http://www.cafeconleche.org/ | +----------------------------------+---------------------------------+ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
