The next Xerces release is scheduled for next week ( Wed. or Thur.)
The tentative _code_freeze_ is Tuesday.
I know that most of the committers are busy fixing bugs and adding support
to the latest W3C specifications (XML 1.1 and DOM Level 3).
Today Dean Chalker submitted patches for XPointer implementation in
XInclude (thanks a lot, Dean!).
I have not read the XPointer spec. and given the schedule I don't have time
to read it before we release. Given that I can't review the patches.
Do we have any committers for Xerces-J project who know the XPointer spec
and have time to review and commit the patches submitted before the
release?
If not, I am afraid we won't be able to add XPointer support for this
release. We will definitely try to include it in the next release
(tentatively in January).
Btw, we need to decide what package the XPointer implementation should be
added to.
Should it be in "xinclude.xpointer", "impl.xpointer", "xerces.xpointer"?
Thank you,
