Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: XERCERJ-25
Summary: XMLSerializer has incorrect handling of attributes
Type: Bug
Status: Resolved
Resolution: FIXED
Project: Xerces2-J
Assignee: Xerces-J Developers Mailing List
Reporter: Paul R. Brown
Created: Wed, 25 Jul 2001 6:03 AM
Updated: Mon, 12 Apr 2004 2:12 PM
Environment: Operating System: Windows NT/2K
Platform: PC
Description:
Among other small things, XMLSerializer will take any attribute that begins
with xmlns (even something like xmlnsfoo) and use it to create a prefix
mapping. For example, xmlnsfoo="bar" will result in the "" namespace being
mapped to the URI "bar".
There are also instances of String addition and other little items to clean up.
