Hi Fernando,

I think Xerces should support all the aliases that IANA lists. As to a
properties file: other than IANA aliases, what other encoding-names do you
think people will need to use? I'm just wondering whether we need to go as
far as a properties file, or whether just using the infrastructure that
MIME2Java provides is enough?

BTW, note that I've cc'd [email protected] on this note; it seems
to me to be the natural home for development-related discussions like this.

Cheers,
Neil

nice.

So someone is listening :)

We eventually had found MIME2Java and added latin1 support successfully.

I am wondering if there is interest in supporting even more encoding
aliases? Or taking the encoding maps from a properties file.. so that it
can even be easily configured...

So if I submit a patch, I feel like having MIME2Java get it's information
from a properties file...

any ideas?

fernando
