If you want the parser to validate that you only use one form 
or the other but not both, you're out of luck. DTDs and Schema 
cannot specify this kind of constraint on content models.

I believe the Trex schema language (and thus probably RelaxNG)
can define these types of grammars. But there is no direct
support for these schema languages in Xerces. There are other
separate validators available.
