didn't have the latest version of xerces, now i have downloaded 2.0.0, before i
had 1.4.4. Now it works ! Thanks again so much for your

with version 2.0.0, the member function parser.getFeaturesRecognized(); seems to
be depricated, is there any substitute for it

You or I must have typed it in wrong. Either way that exception is being thrown because the parser isn't recognizing the feature:An XMLReader will throw this exception when it finds an unrecognized feature or property identifier; SAX applications and extensions may use this class for other, similar purposes.
So you should check the http://xml.apache.org web site.
One last question to ask yourself is: Do you have the lastest version of Xerces? If not is the version you are using support schema validation?
