If you could compile Xerces-C, than it's probably something to do with
perl.
Could you show me a success 'cc' line from the xerces-c build? Just
touch one of the .cpp files and re-run make.
Could you also include the output of 'make -k' for Xerces.pm? I'd like
to see what make is doing.
