I just tried building Xerces-P on Red Hat Linux 7.1 against Xerces-C 1.5.0
and 1.5.1, and against both source and binary distributions of Xerces-C. No
matter which combination I try I get either a no matching function during
build, or a core during make test. I haven't tried building with the
compat-egcs compilers yet (RH 6.2 compatibility versions) and I'm not
planning on rebuilding my Perl any time soon (as was suggested at one point
on the list).
Are these problems both likely to disappear with the next release of
Xerces-P or do you need anything to pin either of them down?
