Hi Joseph, I don't know what might be causing that, but I built Xerces on Solaris 2.6 too and I got some strange error messages myself when using cc and CC compilers. Are the gcc and g++ compilers available to you? The documentation does not endorse using these, but strangely enough it solved my problems and it compiled successfully.
