So, »editor« becomes »Herausgeber« in German, for instance, ›pp.‹ becomes ›S.‹ 
and so forth. I’m not sure what you mean by ›bibliographical style variants 
based on the language‹; surely, the bibliography should be as consistent as 
possible?
