You don't need to use such a font! You can choose your font for Tamil text and another font for English text. For instance: \setmainfont[Mapping=tex-text]{Linux Libertine} \newcommand\tamil{\fontspec[Script=Tamil,Scale=1]{Lohit Tamil}} In the preamble. then your main text is in English and if you want to switch to Tamil: {\tamil your Tamil text} - -- François Patte UFR de mathématiques et informatique Université Paris Descartes 45, rue des Saints Pères F-75270 Paris Cedex 06 Tél. +33 (0)1 4286 2145 http://www.math-info.univ-paris5.fr/~patte -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Fedora - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk0QdEoACgkQdE6C2dhV2JXoIQCcCzyiO1IE3bfqUfsVYWDH+ISy rk8An2JqmdIh1/A6n/67747Tr0TtJNXx =nPtv -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -------------------------------------------------- Subscriptions, Archive, and List information, etc.: http://tug.org/mailman/listinfo/xetex
