For those who might still be affected by this problem: while
\setmainfont[Mapping=tex-text]{Linux Libertine O} still doesn't work
(see previous posts), since this morning you can use this:

\usepackage[libertine={Ligatures=TeX}]{libertine}

The new incarnation of the libertine package seems to load the correct fonts.
